2008-01-25T17:57:02Z Delhi has been amazing. What a city! Such madness! I love it! :) <br />..But the cold has truely gotten to us, we are both really happy to go back ~home~ to warm and cozy Goa again tomorrow. :)<br />Its been interesting to meet the people here. One of the persons we have been having most conversations with have been Neeraj, a guy that we have been buying fabrics from. The most shocking thing he has told us about his life is that he works 7 days a week, 11 hours each day, with only 3 days of holiday in a year. And not only that, sometimes when he has energy he gives Ayuruvedic massage in the evenings.. :O He earns in a month 2500 Rps (50 EUR). He has also never left Delhi, in all his life.. Even though he had many offers and oportunities. He is happy like this, he loves his life, the part of Delhi where he lives, his boss, and he's very happy with his salary. Which by the way he gives (except for 500 Rps) to his mother.<br />Makes one think about life and priorities... I am blessed.<br />I spent my birthday with my stomache totally disrupt.. But we did get a lot of fabric shopping done.. On a market with the sewer flowing on the side of the streets.. Mmm.. luckily it is cold in Delhi now, I cant imagine how that would be when it is hotter.. <br />Aww Delhi..<br />The day after my birthday my stomache was ok again and we had birthday cake with huge cappuchinos and mint choko milkshakes in a really fancy cafe. <br />We have actually also managed to do some touristic stuff here. We went to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. It was.. ok. I have to say that its nicer on the pictures. In real its quite a sterile white blinding not at all as big as one thinks building. And its expensive to enter. And we were more of an tourist attratcion then the building. The Indians were really over the top with their wanting to photograph us and talk to us.. it was quite tireing in the end.<br />But we had a cute driver that took us around to other nice places, the nicest were the resturants I think, haha..<br />Today we decided we where gonna go to a posh neighbourhood for our last night and treat ourselves with a really nice meal. We where looking all over for a Thai resturant, thats what we've been talking about for the last week.. Thai curry... But we couldnt find it, we went all around this neighbourhood.. Na ja.. we went back towards our neightbourhood and all sudden I spotted a resturant, and it did say Thai food on it! It looked a bit strange though, there were workers and construction thingies in the front of it. But we went in and it turned out they had just opened the resturant that day! Just for us! :P It was all shining new, it smelled very new when we entered! When we were seated the waiters were giving us special opening treats and it was all just amazing, the food was mouth watering super tasty. When we were done we asked for the bill, naturally. But they told us it was all complementerary... "Comple-what?" -For free! they answered... Arriving in Mumbai and the trip down do Goa was a smelling and impression filled journey. One moment you see conrete and smell inscense, the next one people are running around you like ants in a antsnest, the smell of pickle finds yous nose for a moment, next you swish past jungle and colorful painted houses, you are jumping in your seat totally amazed by the skill of the Indian taxi drivers and smell is of dust and cowdung.. And around the next corner waits a new adventure, who knows what it might be...<br /><br />It took me a week of intensity with New Years parties, crazy firework loving Indians, waking up to a small orchestra one morning and to screaming neighbours the next, meeting after meeting with amazingly beautiful creative inspiring people to really land in Goa and truely feel like home. My favorite word of that first week must have been overwhealming.. it truely was.<br />Then I kindof felt like my healing adventure had truely started. Ive been spoiling myself in Goa with getting massages twice a week, eating amazing food, drinking super tasty drinks, sunbathing, dancing, buying myself late Xmas gifts and early birthday gifts, hehe.. ;)<br /><br />Now me and Leroy is in Dusty Delhi, on a mad shopping adventure turning in to a true treasure hunt, so more early birthday gifts of course, hihi.. :P I though Delhi was gonna be madder, but I think I somehow got immune to madness last time I was in India, I feel totally at ease with it all this time. We are just cruising around playing tetris with our selves in the streets, again eating amazing food, sleeping on comfy matresses for the first time since I arrived in India.. Mmm! :D<br /><br />Today I fell in love with a puppy on the streets, a fluffy little brown one.. mjao!! A man sitting next to it said I can get him for 5 rupees!! Awww... poor puppy, he was worth millions! This one would have a wonderful life in Goa, 100 times better then here, so we are seriously considering it.. We spent it just like you should, getting creative making costumes, drinking sleezy orange drink out of black straws while listening to hard rock... I started hearing about this a few years ago, but didn´t get into it really until now!<br />After just have listened to the lucid dreaming one a few times I´ve been having 2(!) lucid dreams in a few days... And I haven´t had any 100% lucid dreams for more then half a year!!<br />Today I listened to the guided meditation for Faith.. It was so amazingly beautiful, I cried myself through it...! I can really recommend these meditations!! This activity can be registered as oscillations (popularly called brainwaves) by placing electrodes on the scalp, amplifying the signals and displaying them on a computer monitor. This method of measuring is called electroencephalo-graphy (EEG). </font></h3> <h3 style="font-weight: normal;"><font size="2">Brainwave activity tends to fall into four groups: <strong>beta, alpha, theta and delta</strong>. These categories are associated with the rapidity of oscillation (frequency) of brainwaves. As it turns out, certain patterns of brainwave activity are also associated with specific <strong>mental states</strong>.</font></h3> <h3 style="font-weight: normal;"><font size="2">During unconscious states, (e.g. deep sleep), the slow delta waves are dominant, whereas it is the high-frequency beta waves that are prevalent during concious, wakeful activity. Of particular interest to us, though, are the <strong>alpha and theta waves.<br /></strong></font></h3><br /><font size="4"><span style="font-weight: bold;">The four types of brain waves</span></font><br /><br /><font style="font-weight: bold;" size="3">Beta waves</font> <br />(15-30 oscillations (or waves) per second (Hz)). This is the brain rhythm in the normal wakeful state associated with thinking, conscious problem solving and active attention directed towards the outer world. You are most likely in the "beta state" while you are reading this.<br /><br /><font style="font-weight: bold;" size="3">Alpha waves</font> <br />(9-14 Hz). When you are truly relaxed, your brain activity slows from the rapid patterns of beta into the more gentle waves of alpha. Fresh creative energy begins to flow, fears vanish and you experience a liberating sense of peace and well-being. The "alpha state" is where meditation starts and you begin to access the wealth of creativity that lies just below our conscious awareness. It is the gateway that leads into deeper states of consciousness.<br /><br /><font style="font-weight: bold;" size="3">Theta waves </font><br />(4-8 Hz). Going deeper into relaxation and meditation, you enter the "theta state" where brain activity slows almost to the point of sleep. Theta brings forward heightened receptivity, flashes of dreamlike imagery, inspiration, and,sometimes, your long-forgotten memories. It can also give you a sensation of "floating".<br />Theta is one of the more elusive and extraordinary realms we can explore. It is also known as the twilight state which we normally only experience fleetingly as we rise up out of the depths of delta upon waking, or drifting off to sleep. In theta, we are in a waking dream, and we are receptive to information beyond our normal conscious awareness. Some people believe that theta meditation awakens intuition and other extrasensory perception skills.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Delta waves</span> <br />(1-3 Hz). This slowest of brainwave activity is found during deep, dreamless sleep.
